| Filtrexx International Receives
Prestigious Award From NAEP
Orlando, Florida, April 22, 2007: Filtrexx International LLC received an award for Best Available Environmental Technology from the National Association of Environmental Professionals (NAEP). During the 2007 National Environmental Excellence Awards luncheon on Monday in Orlando, Florida, award winners were recognized for their outstanding environmental achievements. The NAEP’s National Excellence Awards focus on significant achievements in improving the quality of our environment, unique compliance methodology, environmental technology innovation and application. Filtrexx was recognized for their corporate program on Erosion Control and Stormwater Management which includes over 20 low impact designs using locally made products that are annually renewable, bio-based, organic, recycled and natural. Filtrexx has nearly 100 Certified Installers located in most of the United States, Canada, Japan, New Zealand and Australia. Filtrexx Certified Installers used about 1 million cubic yards of composted materials as a key ingredient to reducing erosion and helping to control stormwater in 2006. “We expect the use of compost in our program to double within the next few years”, said Rod Tyler, CEO of Filtrexx. The use of composted products has recently been recognized as an important way to increase carbon in soils that may help in the reduction of global warming. The use of compost products within the Filtrexx program have also shown to filter water, bind pollutants, increase groundwater recharge, reduce erosion, and provide an advantage in establishing vegetation crucial to long term environmental protection. Other NAEP Environmental Excellence Awards included: NAEP is a non-profit National Association with about 5,000 affiliated members nationwide. NAEP is composed of environmental scientists and professional planning experts in various disciplines and is dedicated to the advancement of ethical environmental practice in the U.S. and abroad. Each year NAEP holds an Annual Conference to present state-of-the-art information on environmental planning, research, and management. The conference offers a symposium where approximately 100 professional papers are presented and expert panels discuss environmental topics related to current issues, problems, and solutions. |
